Do you accept auto insurance?

Absolutely! Massages are great for whiplash and other car crash injuries. Automobile accidents can be extremely trying on your muscles, and massages can help relax and heal them.

What should I expect for my first appointment?

First, you will fill out a form that tells us about your health history and we will consult with you about what is hurting you and any past injuries.  From there, you are in charge of everything that goes on - what is worked on, the temperature of the room, the music that is being played, etc. We will walk you through the process of what you will experience – normally starting face down and working on the back first.

Do you talk during the massage?

This all depends on you! We want you to feel comfortable with what is going on and not overwhelm you. We do not talk to our clients during their massage unless the client talks first (many want a quiet, relaxing massage - and we totally understand!).

I'm pregnant - can I still get a massage?

Unfortunately, if you are in your first trimester you can not get a massage - but once you are in your second or third trimester, we can! Your hips are getting wider to get ready for the baby, and your muscles get pressed more onto your nerves - massages can help release the muscle tightness and help you to carry the baby with less pain.

(However, we would always recommend asking your doctor first if this is safe for you.)

Can I get a massage while breastfeeding?

Many people ask this because they are worried that the toxins that are released during a massage will impact their breastfeeding - this is not the case. You may get massages while breastfeeding!

Do I have to get completely naked?

If you don’t feel comfortable, you may leave your underwear on, but getting completely undressed helps us to work on your lower back, a common source of pain in many of our clients.

What causes the knots in my body?

Muscle fibers are like spaghetti and when one gets tangled up, it causes the knots you feel across your body. Many times, these knots radiate pain in other areas of the body and an inexperienced massage therapist might work on the wrong area - you can be sure that our massage therapist are experienced and will know the source of your pain.

What type of products do you use?

We use Biotone cream because it's water based and non-sensitve, which means that it's non-allergenic and good for any type of skin.

Can you do anything for tension headaches?

Yes! In fact, massaging pressure points behind the skull is ideal for helping tension headaches.

What should I do before and after a massage?

Drink lots of water! When getting an abdominal massage, we wouldn't recommend coming on a full stomach (that just wouldn't be comfortable!).

What if I fall asleep?

That's totally okay, and more common than you think! In fact, we take it as a compliment!

Why do my muscles feel crunchy during a massage?

Your adhesions and floating toxins build up around your muscles from wear and tear and feels like sharp pains and can get severe. Normally, the only way to get rid of them is through massage.

Should I get a massage when I'm sick?

If it’s a common cold, yes it will help you. For many, massages can help you get over your cold and help your body to release endorphins. If you have the flu, please stay home and get better instead of coming to your appointment!

Can I get a massage with a pulled/torn muscle?

For pulled muscles, massages are great to increase the blood flow to the muscle and help heal the damaged tissues. For ripped muscles, we do not recommend a massage - it would just be too painful!
